Why we built this.
Remotee started in 2024 as a side conversation between a few people who'd hired remote, been hired remote, and watched the same friction points show up on every platform they touched.
Slow review cycles. Recruiters who never read the brief. Contracts you couldn't read without a lawyer. Time-tracker screenshots that felt like surveillance instead of trust. Payouts that took ten days when they should take ten minutes.
We picked the worst of those, in order, and started building. The result is the platform you're looking at — small on purpose, opinionated by design, and aimed squarely at the people who actually do the work.
